The most anticipated year end event is just 2 more weeks away. Have you done your shopping yet?
There's a magical quality in the air but some might be too stress to notice it.
Fancy decorations and light shows are up, for ambiance and to attract more tourist. Unfortunately you can only see the best effects late night after 10.00pm (sunset's after 9pm). Perhaps it's time to innovate on decorations that do not need the clock of the night to bring the best effects out.
But this year's budget looks lean. The street deco reminds me of Lion City to some extent. Guess budget's lean there too.
Luckily it does not dampen the Christmas cheer nor the hordes of people flocking around to see this year's decoration. Nite and me had fun locating Santa's reindeer around the Square. Rudolf was exceptionally hard to find even with his flashy red nose.
There's decorations scattered all over Melbourne City accessible with a guided map that I have conveniently forgot to bring. So...we end up walking where our feet went, watch some light play, drank Chatime and enjoyed some street music.
At the end of the day, our feet brought us back to the start of the grid, Flinder's Street Station. I think the banner don't do justice to the building. Makes it look kinda tacky instead of grand and you need grand for the one of the most prominent building in the city.
Merry Christmas folks!
